Amongst The Lilies

Brave
Arrogant
Debonair
He charged
Up the slope
Of death.

Nonchalant smile
Melted my heart
As I stooped
To pick him up
Lying battered
Amongst The Lilies.

Stubborn
Was he
To cheat
the certain hour
Clasped
In my pining arms
To kiss me adieu
Amongst The Lilies.

His soul merged in mine
Heroic I rose in shadow of my Gods
And enact the part of living.

We live for ourselves and we live for others. Virtues of human intimacy is showcased in this poem penned by MS Jaswal.
