Pain

suddenly

it is time to hear
it is time to say
it is time to enjoy
every single day...

it is time to share
it is time to pray
it is time honor life
for its beautiful sway...

if love weren't pure
if cares weren't true
would life be worth it
pain certainly teaches its due...

Sometimes it takes one to come to the brink to realize the importance of life and love.

The Lingering Touch

We were sitting in the garden
Sipping our warm afternoon tea
The winter sun softly shimmering
Cool breeze whispering by in glee...

I know not what we talked about
Or what discussions were due
I knew I was in good company
That I felt only with a special few....

She wouldnt take her eyes off me
Her smile charmed beyond memory
Contended I felt so much, so free
I wanted time still into history...

She slid off the chair even as I stared
Got up to her full height, straightened her hair
Suddenly she sprinted off to far away
I watched her racing towards the horizon at bay...

Unwilling to let go so easily of her
I raced my best even though I was no sprinter
I followed her though the lush green fields
The sky, the mountains stared along with the trees...

She ran and I followed her as fast as I could
Not letting out of sight her cream apparel or hood
How could someone move so gracefully, I wondered
My eyes feasted on her even as she furthered...

Suddenly, she stopped and looked at me
As if realizing that I was too close for her to flee
She held my hand and lovingly touched my face
And within the blink of an eye I was alone in the space....

I woke up never having felt so rich
That she had come to see me was the niche
Along with her smile, her charm and her grace
Lingers on her love, and the touch on my face....

This is a sequel to the previous poem "Missing you, Maaji".....

Missing You, Maaji

When I met her for the first time
She was aged, and I in my prime
I stepped into her house that day
The spring of love, the warmth of May....

She loved me, she blessed me
To her bosom, she embraced me
I looked around and was charmed
The moonbeams across the patio danced....

Months later, I married her son
She cherished me, we even had girlish fun
More a friend than a mother-in-law
Over the years we could never spot a flaw....

I gave her the grandchildren she desired
She helped me out with enthusiasm that blared
Did I see my friends seethe in jealousy
When we got along beautifully among all frenzy....

She was captivatingly old and got older
I took up a career an got stupidly busier
We could no more spend so much time together
Now she needed to be back to her matter....

Keeping fondly in touch was the key stance
Our love never diminished despite the distance
I want her to be my mom-in-law in every birth
I lost her today, but I will keep up the search....

She loved me, she loved me true
I loved her, more than I knew......

View from the Rear

For years, I sat beside you
Every time you drove
I listened as you spoke
Cheered you up when you broke
I laughed when you joked
Giggled when you groped....

Weary of your conspicuous love
A different view I wanted to grub
But sitting behind you was a hopeless accord
Terribly I missed you, your glances, your word
I realized I cared not for any other hue
My head on your shoulder, I wanted to glue....

Some times we just need a little push in the right direction to realize what we have....

Show Us The Way

Oh God
Why does life
At times, seem in vain
With all the disease
Death, destruction, strain
Why does nature
Play havoc by turn
Why does hated
Make mankind burn....

We are your children
Show us the way
Do away with disasters
Bring happiness in clusters
Glory and love in charters
Cant smiling be a rule
And laughter a school
Make us happy and gay
And let life be a child's play....

 A simple prayer....

No Tears

I lost him
The day
He flawed
Though
He loved me
It was
Too scummy
A deed
To overlook
To withdraw
Or be gnawed....

I still don't
Call it loss
It was knowledge
That he
Could be gross
Had I not
Loved him so
For all
His tears
And pleas
Passion and love
I would have
Forgiven him
And not
Shown him
The door....

Who wants
A lover that flaws
Life was better off
Sans scars and claws....

Sadness and disappointment in someone doesn't necessarily bring tears. The knowledge that he could do that to you can numb you so much that the tear glands refuse to work.....

No Complaint

I did not have roses
So I made some flowers
I worked all night
Shuffling colored papers...

I placed them in a vase
And pretended they were real
I took them with me
The next day to the temple...

When all others had withered
My paper flowers stood out
I collected them back proudly
And thanked god with all smiles...

I then gave them to you
Blessed and still as good as new
If fragrance was missing from them
Neither did God complain nor did you....

Paper flowers.....I loved penning this poem as it allowed me to take things for granted....
