Wish

On my life's trivial trails
I see graves dotted on my sails
Exploiting in me the man frail
Success or I did fail?

Wish the journey was along the flowery bed
Scents of roses and honey to spread
Wish the thorns and littered stones
Did not rattle my old bones.

Wish the dreams were san screams
Of  myself dead in a battle field
Wish the demons robbing my body
Got their blood sucked and not my toddy.

Wish the truth of me was simply seen
Not valued under the hidden reams
Wish the love I relentlessly showed
Had in music her mesmerized and swayed.

Wish I was a man as man to be
Not interpreted on lines berated
Wish I had done things always right
With much more force and might.

Wish I got a chance to live again
To undo all the negative gain
To reduce the excruciating pain
From the man in me so completely sane.

People often wish for another chance so that they could have done things better. This is a poem by my friend, MS Jaswal, who expresses similar thoughts in these lines.
