Rooted

Lush green trees,
Sound of buzzing bees,
The chirruping of a bird,
As I take a sip of my curd.
Peek out of the window,
To see the whole show.

Rains pouring down,
The clouds playing clown,
I look further on,
Oh what a lovely morn,
The garden and the pathway,
Seem to in music sway.

Leading to the curved road,
Through greenery that hold,
My vision takes in all,
Every beauty big and small,
Moves on to the sea,
That calmly looks back at me.

I spy on the Naval ships,
That standby like lovely clips,
Waiting to defend and save,
A nation and its people brave,
Then I come to that line,
So thin and fine,
That touches the sky,
Suddenly, I wish I could fly!!!

Note: This is a scene I would enjoy every morning when I looked out of my window when I was in Port Blair.

Shiva, the Destroyer

The world trembles
When in anger you stumble

Your fiery veins
Pumping out lava drains

Destruction complete
Leaves a charred earth

One whiff of rain
Germinating tree

Giver of life
Help overcome strife

Conception manifests free
Women in souls married to thee

Destroyer of evil
Let good prevail

Keep humanity standing
In faith of mother nature to never fail

Scan from your third eye
But from your lofty Himalayan abode

Let cool winds chill you
By their beauty and grace

I bow to you
Let your anger be

Devouring the sinful
And never me.

Note: Lord Shiva is self-controlled and celibate, while at the same time a lover of his spouse, Shakti. He is the destroyer of the world following Brahma, the creator, and Vishnu, the preserver, after which Brahma again creates the world and so on. Shiva is responsible for change both in the form of death and destruction, and in the positive sense in destroying the ego, the false identification with the form. This also envisages the shedding of old habits and attachments. All that has a beginning by necessity much have an end. In destruction, truly nothing is destroyed but the illusion of individuality. Hence, the power of destruction associated with Lord Shiva has great purifying power, both on a more personal level when problems make us see reality more clearly as well as on a more universal level. Destruction opens the path for a new creation of the universe, a new opportunity for the beauty of universal illusion to unfold. As Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram, i.e., Truth, Goodness & Beauty, Lord Shiva represents the most essential goodness if mankind.

Droplet

An azure sky and fleecy clouds
Looked upon the calm beach
Absentmindedly, along with me
When suddenly the water rippled apart
And we found ourselves waiting with a bated breath
As we watched him rise
Much alike a glistening Adonis
Oh what a surprise....

My eyes took in his bare chest
And that well-proportioned attractive body
My admiration took leaps and bounds
But, hello, I was not the only one
His eyes burned through me passionately
To hell with decency
The hots were mutual
We both read that clearly....

As he devoured me hungrily from across the waters
My eyes stuck powerfully to a shining droplet
Cascading down  mesmerizingly from his head
Sweetly and ever so steadily
Glittering in the morning sun
Finding its way through his roughened cheek
Descending towards his neck
To reach his heavily heaving chest.....

But no heave stopped the determined drop of water
No heartbeat did attract the tiny thing
As it slipped off beautifully
To pour itself back into the sea
Gone it was with the dignity of a pearl
I missed it and then felt myself unfurl
Even as the Adonis stared at me with a wanton spirit
I turned my eyes away to look at enormous the sea
Dear little droplet, your self-respect has awakened me.

Note: It is a big world and there is no need to get stuck to something when you are not meant to be there. Water is symbolic. Even a droplet can leave a lesson.

Don't Think Twice

Walk, run, sprint
You owe yourself the best
Move away from the mess
Don't think twice.

There is more to life
Than a battered self
There is more to love
Than giving all the way.

Move on with cheer
Take the challenge without fear
Find the path that makes you whole
The price to pay is worth your soul.

Note: There are times in life when its best not to think twice.

I Love Coffee

Pink Bougainvillea spread everywhere,
Like paper flowers on a carpet bare.
Fresh air gently breezed through,
Together we closed in on the brew.
Oh, what a delightful fragrance,
It did enhance my esthetic sense.
A romantic afternoon in the shade,
Trees, flowers and a table laid.
I looked around the garden,
Like a charmed maiden.
What a special moment of glee,
Was he now going to propose to me?
Oh yes, he did put his hand on my knee,
And all he said was, Darling, I Love Coffee!!!

Note: Women are more romantic and they have expectations. Men take it easy!!
